I waited long to hear your words,

Spoken in your voice, and since,

I've heard your voice, I hear

Your words,

Words and laughter in Summer wind,

Quiet rustling of leaf and limb,

Speaking loving messages into

Tired old ears,

Quickly young.

Messages which followed breeze from

Tree to me, into my soul and heart

As I listened, proud and happy,

At last to hear

Your voice.

In the rolling hum of the tires,

The riffling of pages I read,

The clacking of the keys,

As I type words,

You cause.

In the rushed beating of my heart,

Coursing of blood in veins,

Quiet breaths I breathe,

All, all is your voice,

I hear.
